TIDE - Toolbox for Interactive Data Exploration
Overview
Near-real-time access to operational ocean and weather forecasts from ECMWF, Copernicus Marine Service, ICON, and individual regional models coupled with tools for data exploration and maritime tools.
Operators configure data sources, branding, and feature scope for their deployment.
Either you do self-hosting and we support your sys admins or we care about anything and you just have to use it.
Capabilities
- Environmental data - Wind, currents, waves, and bathymetry from operational forecast models with temporal interpolation and multiple overlay modes. Supports non-regular grids.
- Drift estimation - Leeway drift simulation for search and rescue planning based on Allen (2005), 85 object types, Monte Carlo ensemble
- Route weather - Weather conditions along planned routes with optimal sail routing (isochrone solver, polar speed model)
- Point forecasts - Meteo-/Datagrams at any location with uncertainty visualization
- Vessel tracking - AIS ship positions from coastal receivers, color-coded by type, with track history
- Simple Chart tools - Distance and bearing, area measurement, range rings, transect profiles

Data Sources
TIDE uses mainly THREDDS as a datasource. We can add individual data sources or even put this into your processing chain.
